I would like to talk about a time when I received a positive feedback.

It happened several years ago, when I was still in secondary high school, I was selected to represent my school compete in a local math competition held by district’s education department.

I remember back then, it was a writing test in which I had to solve a series of math problems which were pretty difficult and most of them require thinking out of the box and invole using different types of calculations to find the final solution. In the end, I didn’t get the first place in the competition, but managed to get a ranking high enough to be eligible for the next round where we compete with all other schools from other districts in the city. This is a success for my school because we never got that far.

Right after that, I had a meeting with the principal of my school. She is known to be very hot tempered and also a very strict teacher. However, during the meeting, it turned out that she actually is be a very kind and supportive teacher. She congratulate me on the result of the contest and she gave me a compliment saying I did a great job and that every one at school including her is proud of me.

As a student and a math enthusiast, the compliment from the principal made me feel very happy and proud because it seems that all the efforts studying are somewhat paid off. I also get the confidence I need to dig deeper.
